Ta Prohm and Bayon Temples

We're temple hopping once more after getting our morning/afternoon siesta.

Our first stop is Ta Prohm Temple also known as the Tomb Raider Temple.
In case you didn't know, Ta Prohm Temple had a cameo in Angelina Jolie's 2001 movie Tomb Raider. The growing trees out of the ruins make it one of the most popular temples in Cambodia.

Reconstruction is in full swing and not sure how true (the rumors are) that they plan to close the archeological park really soon.

There's a guided path for tourists going around the park. Don't worry if in case you get lost, there are a lot of guards roaming around the area.

This is not allowed so be careful not to get caught like these guys did. Haha. Luckily the guards didn't asked for our passports or whatnot.

Let's take another selfie before entering the Bayon Temple.

Bayon's most distinct feature are the towers with massive stone faces.

I think it's also one of the temples that had less reconstruction?

I wonder how long did it take for the Cambodians to carve this piece of stone. It's so intricately beautiful.
